chilling outside the tavern when we hear monsters attacking from the other side.
Me, slowly gathering up my weapons, sighing: I guess I should go help.
Ylva: I mean, you don't have to hunt every mist creature.
Me: I'm literally a Misthunter, so...
Ylva: Oh yeah, then you should go.
later that night, Valmont is talking about going to bed before midnight.
Me: Well, we kinda have to stay up, but I won't rat on you, and Sinclaire wouldn't either.
Valmont, somewhat amused: No one is making us stay up, Nil.
Me: We're contracted Misthunters. We're supposed to be protecting the Terrace during its journey.
Valmont: We're only obligated to fulfill Roadwardens' contracts while here. If anything, it's the Merchant Safety Committee that's supposed to be protecting the Terrace.
Me: oh.
Me: Then yeah, we should go to bed.
sitting with the Roadwardens in a triangle, all of us either writing up or receiving an Apology Note Form. Keeping those in my bag was the best decision XD
Clean and organized close quarter fighting in a cabin while poisoning a 'nest' was awesome. Also when we discovered creatures that had full plate but a circle of vulnerability! A fun mechanic.
The wave/defend battles were great and rough. So many instances of people barely being healed, myself included. Also enemies using combo techniques with trip, beat, and piercing slay.
ARMOR-DILLO smiting tripped people.
Feeling the mounting tension out in the woods as tracks just disappear...
Keeping weather researchers alive and then walking back nonchalantly and being COMPLETELY AMBUSHED by tiny polearm ghost.
Caradoc's slow descent into madness as he realizes that everyone around him is an enormous sketchball
TIME SCURVY
Before the first Hunt of the event, Hector realizes he's forgotten something. Dr Sinclaire asks Landon if he has amnesia as a conversation starter while we wait. Five minutes and several EXTREMELY CONCERNED Misthunters later, Hector comes back and asks how things are going. EVERYONE IS HAVING AN EXTREMELY NORMAL ONE, THANK YOU HECTOR
all of the Weird Specific Monsters this event had very fun mechanics (especially enjoyed finding out after game-off that the bomb core that Dr Rhea had been holding like baby was full of popper traps)
several people extremely angry about the Great Pickpocketing-The-Fighters Incident Of Seventh-day Afternoon, then game off hits and everyone goes JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR THAT WAS REALLY CLEVER, GOOD JOB WHOEVER DID THAT, I'M ONLY IN-GAME MAD
several people bumming cigarettes off Ylva as their days got progressively more stressful
all of the Fun Facts people gave me in exchange for scones or Majakka Mochas (and also many of y'all's absolute failure to understand the concept of a fun fact, because half the terrace is Tragic Sadboys)
I have to say I'm glad everyone is enjoying the clank-clank life of Hector. More to come next event for sure.
I was very happy with the 'beach house' set up. It's probably the most interesting cabin I've ever stayed in at a larp. Everyone in the cabin put a lot of effort into decorating it. Going forward we're hoping it's a good place to have in character meetings and hang outs.
Thank you everyone who came to Hector's training session Saturday morning. We're going to try and keep that going once an event for next season.
Thank you to everyone who helped in the kitchen! Being kept fed for the event really helped me out!
I really enjoyed the PC interactions I had this event. It's really starting to give me some great RP and I'm starting to feel the game getting out of the start up phase and starting to hit it's stride.
What were your favorite (non-redacted) moments from this past weekend?
I loved almost getting to duel one of the players Sunday (I love be a good duel!)
If that was me (hammer and shield) we were so close! Maybe next time!

"LET'S DANCE, BABY, LET'S DANCE!"
CLANK CLANK CLANK as Hector full sprints into the past the tavern after a mist assassin.

Oh man, sitting in staff center and just hearing CLANK CLANK CLANK as Hector chased someone was great

Getting shitmurdered not more than maybe 20 feet from the staff center stairs on my way to turn in burned magicite
"Wow you and Nicholas are so anime"
"Words are hard today."
"Yeah the mist is really fucking with the academics"
"The time scurvy equivalent of citrus is these cranberries actually, let me shove them in my face."
@bluesylph, LBR, sugared cranberries are my new larp mana
The best part of LET'S DANCE was that Turbo Hector continued to happen at irregular intervals for at least the next 20 minutes from random directions.
@Jesse, time to keep making a small batch for each game :D
@spaige -- CLANKTRAIN's a coming! WOO WOO! I loved it, and also made me happy I wasn't wearing plate.

@spaige, I did indeed get chased from so many directions. It was great.
Mine are kinda meta, because I was busy for most of the event…
