Covid Policy

Moving foward, we have the following covid policy (if this changes, we'll update this post / thread):

RFR has a new, more comprehensive covid/health policy, available here: https://docs.google.com/docum…

Summarizing:

  1. If you are sick; are contagious; or someone in your household is currently sick with covid, the flu, or other serious transmissible illness: don’t come.
    • Notify us, preferably.
    • If the event is less than a week away, you can move your registration to a later event (talk to us).
  2. Be up to date with covid vaccination — this now means "have the latest booster."
    • Vaccination cards are no longer required (because they are no longer really used), so this is on the honor system.
    • You don't need the latest booster if you are directed by your doctor to not get it.
    • You are not required to get the latest booster if it was released less than 3 months' time before the event.
  3. Provide proof of a negative covid test at most 24 hours before the event (preferably less than 12 hours).
    • Send photos of your negative tests to testing@redfeatherroleplaying.com. You don’t need to email staff.
  4. Indoor masking is required; it must be a KN95 or better.
    • Masking is not required while eating, sleeping, or outdoors.
  5. If the MWRA Wastewater tracker shows a 7-day average at or below 867 copies/mL (staff will check this and notify everyone the Monday before an event), then masking is not required if you pass 2 sequential rapid tests:
    • The second test must be no more than 24 hours before the event.
    • The first test must be about 48 hours before the second test (so 72-48 hours before the event’s start).
    • Send photos of your negative tests to testing@redfeatherroleplaying.com.

Previous policy (from summer 2023) below, for posterity:

  1. Everyone in attendance needs to be vaccinated (both doses) and have at least the (currently most-recent) bivalent booster.
    • This is a really good idea, even outside of larping. It will protect you from the worst effects and make you much less likely to get covid at all.
    • If you've already shown proof of this, you don't need to repeat showing it every event.
  2. If you have direct covid contact or a positive test within 10 days of an event, don't come. Notify us, preferrably.
  3. Provide proof of a negative covid test at most 24 hours before the event (preferrably less than 12 hours), to be visually checked by a staffer.
    • Staff may be able to provide tests at site, likely at cost to you.
  4. Indoor masking is required; it must be a KN95 or better. Lip-reading masks of equivalent protection are allowed.
    • Based on the weather, indoor social distancing for only eating/drinking is usually allowed.
  5. Outdoor masking during fights and other close encounters is not required, but encouraged if it doesn't impede you.

The wastewater threshold was changed from 336 to 867 copies/mL. The above summary has been updated.
