Once a frontier territory of Gelephia, Nonoviga was filled with Gelephian refugees following the Gelephian Mistake. An enterprising Governor General turned this into a rapid and bloody period of expansion and warring, until after a hundred-odd years of back and forth with neighboring territories, the borders of modern Nonoviga approximately stabilized. While some degree of historical animosity remains, by and large Nonoviga is currently known as a forerunner of technology and trade.

Currently, the eyes of the world are on Nonoviga for their grand new project, the creation of a rail line spanning the distance from Nogin Bay to the Great Shimmer – specifically, intended to terminate at one of the destination points of Majakka Terrace, serving to connect shipping on the Sea of Ashera with points across the shimmer via the Terrace.
