The Jade Tower sits in the northern reaches of Ekhoron's Western Border, so named because of the color of the stone used to build it. Not jade, as legend might indicate, but a beautifully marbled dark green granite. Over a short period of time, moss and vines have grown up and around the tower, making it a verdant sight in the growing months.

The Jade Tower is home to the Jade Choir, a recent organization dedicated to preserving songs, ballads, and oral folklore. Their leader, Mossar Vedinfurth, is a graduate of [Birstan School](wiki:cultures-locations-and-stories/ekhoron/mid-country/birstan-school) and used his inheritance to have the Jade Tower constructed using ancient architectural styles to lend a sense of gravitas. He started by collecting all the songs and stories of the Ekhoron Coast, then gathered followers to assist him in collecting them from all of Ekhoron. Choir members learn these songs and stories, transcribing them onto scrolls which are preserved in the Jade Tower's library behind circles of protection.

Vedinfurth plans on sending Choir members into other lands soon to seek out the songs and legends of other nations. Some say he is motivated by a fear of a cataclysmic event which will tear the knowledge from peoples' minds, while others say he is doing it to make his mother happy. Locals say she has ceased badgering him to find a spouse to settle down with ever since he started the Jade Choir, so perhaps the latter is true.

Choir members frequently wear a tower pin to indicate their membership, though all but Vedinfurth have regular professions. The Jade Choir is currently looking for funding to pay its Choir members to go on their pilgrimage to foreign lands.
